Lahore: Former national team captain Shahid Afridi has voiced his dissatisfaction with his son-in-law, Shaheen Shah Afridi's, performance in the wake of Pakistan's defeat to India.

During a private TV program, Shahid Afridi critiqued Pakistan's bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, after the devastating loss against India in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup.

Pakistan had suffered a heavy defeat by 228 runs, with India scoring 356 runs in reply to Pakistan's mere 128 runs in 32 overs, marking India's largest victory over Pakistan in One Day Internationals.

While speaking on the program, Shahid Afridi scrutinized Shaheen Shah's bowling performance and remarked that Shaheen needed to maintain consistency in line and length in his bowling.

He highlighted the significance of placing the ball in the right areas, especially in the initial overs of the match, to avoid feeling frustrated if wickets were not taken immediately.

Shahid Afridi appreciated Naseem Shah's bowling but questioned why Shaheen Afridi did not target the right areas.

He suggested that if the Pakistani team had displayed a more accurate and effective bowling line-up, especially in the initial overs, the situation might have been different.

Furthermore, Shahid Afridi advised the national team to refocus and regroup after the loss.
