Islamabad: Former bureaucrat Fawad Hassan Fawad took oath as a caretaker federal minister on Friday.
President Dr Arif Alvi administered him the oath at a ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad.
Fawad worked in BPS-22 as the principal secretary to two prime ministers, Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
He continued serving as Shehbaz Sharif's principal secretary as well. NAB had accused the acting minister of possessing unlawful property worth billions of rupees.
Fawad was detained in July 2018 by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on suspicion of corruption in the Ashiana-e-Iqbal and three other projects.
Moreover, Fawad, his wife, brother, and Dr. Anjum Hassan were all exonerated by a Lahore accountability court in 2020 after the NAB failed to present any solid evidence against him.
