Pakistan reports over 4000 cases in one day as third wave rages across country
Islamabad: Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,007 cases of coronavirus were reported while 88 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 20,177.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 897,468.
As many as 813,855 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,412 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 333,057 in the province with 9,739 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 306,707 in the province, while the death toll has reached 4,891.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 129,013 in the province with 3,875 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 24,413 confirmed cases while 270 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 18,651 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 526. On the other hand, there are 5,471 cases in GB with 107 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 80,156 cases in the capital city while 744 people have lost their lives.
