Ashfaque Satti clarifies his position on domestic violence allegations

Karachi: The anchorperson of private news channel Ashfaque Ishaq Satti clarified his position on the allegations of domestic violence made by his wife.

Ashfaque Ishaq Satti turned to his social media account Instagram and released a video statement.

At the beginning of the conversation, the anchorperson said: “I have reached this position after 17 years of hard work and consistency, during this time I am grateful for the love given by you people”.

He stated about dispute with his second wife Nomaika Tahir Mehmood that it is very important to have a point about an issue, every story has two sides. ‘My fight with my wife was our private matter as it is in every house between couples. By exaggerating this matter, my character is being tarnished’.

Expressing his disappointment on the comments of people on social media, he said that a person, who was gentle till today, has suddenly been turned into a beast. His personal life is being bounced around. Those issues are being discussed which no one knows about.

He further said that whatever is the matter with him and his wife Nomaika, the police are investigating it. But no one should have a media trial. On the one hand, when there are courts, there is no need for media courts.

Giving a message to the critics, he added, “The courts of our country will look into this matter and I hope for justice from the courts of our country”.

Referring the rumors related to his third wife, he said, "”The relationship between me and my third wife Zara Ansari is being raised”. We have been married for three years and have a two-year old son. Zara knows everything about my previous marriages and children.

Ashfaq further stated on the allegations of violence made by his second wife Nomaika that he prioritized her more over other wives as she was living with his children, but fighting over minor issues repeatedly and demanding to divorce third wife is not correct in any case.

Addressing the popular anchor Rabia Anam, he said that on the other hand she is criticizing him personally. ‘I would like to tell her that you were my colleague. I had a respectful relationship with you. You did not try to know my position through any call or message in this whole matter and because of the words spoken by Rabia, I am currently in mental agony’.

The anchorperson further added, “I, my wife and my children are receiving threatening calls”. If anything happens to him or his family, she will be responsible.
