Lahore: The power prices is likely to increase Rs2.94 per unit. The extra burden will be imposed on consumers for more than Rs20 billion in one month with the increase in prices.
According to the details, the power division told that the 22 cheap power plants were closed which were running on gas in March. Earlier, the 13 plants were closed which run on natural gas.
The nine plants remained close which run on exported re-gasified liquified natural gas (RLNG). Previously, the power was also produced by furnace oil.
However, the most expensive electricity was exported from Iran to Rs30.37 in per unit.
