It is pertinent to note that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had suspended the Managing Director (MD) and General Manager (GM) Procurement of Pakistan Agricultural Storage & Services Corporation (PASSCO) for negligence in the wheat procurement process.
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Shehbaz Sharif regarding the demand, supply and purchase program of wheat, in which he inquired why a mobile application was not designed for the process of purchasing wheat.
The Prime Minister suspended the Managing Director and General Manager Procurement of PASSCO for not following the instructions regarding the use of technology in the wheat procurement process and for being negligent.
