Karachi: Two robbers and a passerby were killed, while three robbers, a police constable and citizen suffered injuries in five alleged police encounters in the provincial capital in the last 24 hours, police said.

Police and criminals came face to face in areas of Gulistan-e-Johar, Maleer Nadi, Ittehad Town, Gulishan Mamar and Korangi.
The injured were admitted to different hospitals of the city.
In Korangi's Chamra Churangi the crossfire between some robbers and police left a robber and a passerby killed.
The victims were identified as citizen Mustafa and suspect Haider.
Mustafa's father told media that his son was returning home after getting a rickshaw repaired when he was injured as a result of firing by a criminal. He regretted that Mustafa was taken to the police station instead of a hospital.
He demanded transparent inquiry into the police encounter.
A police constable suffered gunshot wounds during crossfire with some suspects in Gulshan-e-Johar.
