'Woman was found sleeping peacefully after butchering her spouse'


Karachi: A 60-year-old woman ruthlessly murdered a man, who according to her was her husband, chopped him into pieces.
According to details, the horrific incident occurred in Karachi’s Saddar area. The woman, identified as Rubab, allegedly killed her 60-year-old husband Sheikh Muhammad Sohail, chopped his body into pieces and then scattered them in different rooms of the house and went to sleep.
A heavy contingent of police arrived at an apartment located at the State Life Building on Abdullah Haroon Road in Saddar on Friday after receiving complaints of a human hand and other body parts being seen outside a flat.
Police said that woman also claimed that the man was her husband.
According to Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Zubair Nazir Sheikh, there were bloodstains on the woman's hands and clothes. However, the woman denied she had murdered the man.
SSP Zubair Nazeer Sheikh said the woman was found sleeping peacefully after butchering her spouse.
“The woman had thrown pieces of her husband’s body in different rooms. Police also recovered several tools from the possession of the woman,” he added.
Police recovered a knife, a hammer and other suspected tools from Rubab’s possession. Her hands and clothes also had bloodstains, but she refused to have murdered the old man.
Karachi police collected evidence and samples from the crime scene on Friday and later sent the body for autopsy to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
