Lahore: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) lifted the ban on bi-directional green meters used for transmission to solar power-selling companies.
Director Customer Services has issued a notification to lift the ban. According to the notification, installation of bi-directional green meters has been allowed till October 15, after which NOC of bi-directional green meters will be issued to the consumers.
It is pertinent to note that earlier LESCO had ordered to install AMI meters instead of green ones from July 1, but the notification of AMI meters resulted in a sharp increase in prices, while meter manufacturers were unable to supply meters due to lack of stock.
