Bahawalpur: More than 50 sheep and half a dozen cows were killed after being hit by the Hazara Express train near Chani Goth, a suburb of Bahawalpur.
According to eyewitnesses, a shepherd was crossing his cattle from the Abbasia Link Canal Bridge when the Hazara Express from Rawalpindi to Karachi crushed the sheep and cows on the track.
The animals worth Rs10 million were the owner's only source of livelihood.
Accident where speechless animals died due to shepherd's negligence, on the other hand railway staff are also responsible for killing animals every day by allowing them to pass through the forbidden bridge.
