Federal Cabinet likely to hike gas prices today
The federal cabinet will review the law and order and economic situation in Pakistan.
Islamabad: A meeting of caretaker federal cabinet has been convened today (Thursday), in which there is a strong possibility of approving the hike in gas prices.
According to the media reports, the important meeting of Caretaker Federal Cabinet will be held at the Prime Minister's House, which will be chaired by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.
The federal cabinet will review the law and order and economic situation in Pakistan. Apart from this, there is a strong possibility of confirming the decision of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) to increase gas prices.
It is pertinent to note that the caretaker government has approved an additional fund of Rs125 million for Intelligence Bureau (IB), including increasing gas prices and increasing sales tax on locally manufactured cars.
