Islamabad: Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves but some data suggested the spread of the disease has been contained.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 1,683 cases of coronavirus were reported while 24 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,493.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 967,633.
As many as 910,609 patients have recovered from the disease with 1,980 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 347,347 in the province with 10,798 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 343,303 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,552.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 138,855 in the province with 4,346 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 27,502 confirmed cases while 315 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 20,728 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 590. On the other hand, there are 6,639 cases in GB with 111 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 83,259 cases in the capital city while 781 people have lost their lives.
