Kabul: A blast has been reported in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province and at least 15 were wounded.

At least 15 people reportedly sustained injuries in a blast that took place at a mosque in Afghanistan's Nangarhar Province, a local resident said.

As per initial reports, the explosion hit a mosque in the Spin Ghar area in eastern Afghanistan during Friday prayers, wounding at least 12 people including the local mullah.

The blast occurred at around 1:30 pm when explosives apparently located in the interior of the mosque detonated.

No comment was available from Taliban officials and there was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Earlier, at least 19 people were killed while 50 citizens sustained injuries after two blasts followed by the sound of gunfire hit Sardar Mohammad Daud Khan military hospital in Kabul last week.

As per reports, the explosions took place, one at the entrance of the hospital and one near it—apparently targeting civilians.
