Islamabad: The rains in different cities of Punjab caused a fire while dozens of feeders in the federal capital tripped due to the rain and the power supply was suspended.
It rained in various cities of Punjab including Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Jhelum, Gujarat and Hafizabad. The highest rainfall was recorded at Chaklala with 124mm and Bokra received 114mm.
On the other hand, rain with thunder and lightning was also recorded in Zilla Bagh, Bhimbar, Samahni and surrounding areas of Azad Kashmir. The rain continued since late night in Nakyal Azad Kashmir city and surrounding areas, in Malakund and surrounding areas. Malakund and surrounding areas have increased the feeling of cold due to rain.
Apart from this, the meteorological department has predicted rains in various parts of Punjab and KP including Lahore, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Mansehra and Nowshera. There is a possibility of rains with wind and thunder in Sindh's Tharparkar and surrounding areas.
Spokesperson ISCO said that more than 40 feeders tripped after rain in Islamabad and Rawalpindi due to which electricity supply was suspended in different areas.
