Karachi's security on ‘high alert’ following Bajaur incident

Karachi: The security of Karachi has been put on high alert after the tragic incident of Bajaur bomb blast.
As per details, in light of Muharram and the Bajaur incident, Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP), Karachi Javed Alam Odho, given directives to step up security.
Additionally, the chief of police in Karachi ordered all police stations to strengthen patrols in their respective areas.
Moreover, Officials at the police station received his order to detain those engaged in criminal activity right away.
The field commanders were also instructed by Karachi Police Chief to remain in their jurisdictions to handle any unfavorable incidents. He gave the traffic cops the instruction to keep a watch on the suspicious cars.
Javed Alam Odho instructed the police to be in touch with the civil administration to ensure the assistance of the public.
The public's safety is being ensured by Karachi Police utilizing all available resources, he continued.
Earlier today, At least 30 people were killed and 80 others suffered injuries on Sunday in an bomb blast attack on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) workers' convention in Bajaur’s Khar area.
The rescue teams reached the blast site and shifted injured to the hospital. Police said that a blast occurred at JUI-F workers convention in Bajaur.
JUI-F Khar tehsil chief Maulana Ziaullah Jan was also killed in the attack.
Rescue 1122 spokesperson Bilal Faizi said that five ambulances had reached the spot. He added that so far, around 50 injured people had been shifted to the hospital.
Further, JUI-F MNA Jamaluddin and former senator Abdur Rasheed were also present at the JUI-F workers' convention when the blast occurred.
Following the explosion, Jamaluddin was unharmed, according to JUI-F provincial spokesperson Jalil Jan.
