Karachi: The efforts by Pakistani authorities are underway to free a cargo ship that got stuck near Karachi's Sea View beach on Wednesday.

According to the Karachi Port Trust, the vessel, named Heng Tong 77, had departed from the port earlier and was docked in the open sea for new shift of staff. The ship had actually reached Pakistan to drop its crew for Eidul Azha holidays.
The high tides pushed the vessel because of its weak engine towards the coast in late hours, a few kilometres away from the Sea View.
The ship had moved towards low waters when the KPT officials were informed by the crew about the situation.
The KPT officials the ship owner, who is responsible to bring the vessel back to deep water and for any enviornmental damage, will be provided with technical and operational support.
